I wasn't going to do this...but then I got tagged by a couple of people specifically, and everyone else was doing it and I can't be a good little sheep if I don't follow the herd, so...baa ( Read more... )

Perkyology! \o/ I'm envious that you're ambidextrous. When I was little I tried to convince myself I was. Turns out my handwriting is just horrible, lol.

I do love you, Perky! *hugs*

It's really just not doing everything with one hand. I know some people who can't do anything more than carry stuff with their off-hand. I can do almost everything with my left that I can with my right...but I don't know if I did it because it came naturally, or because I'm just darned contrary *grin*

Aw! *hugs you back* Love you too!

Do you crochet lefty or righty? //curious

I had to think about it. I have the thread/yarn and object in my left hand and hook in my right...but I am often moving both, LOL! That's how my grandma taught me.

I move both, too. I don't know how to crochet any other way. I'm a righty but I knit like a lefty...I wonder if that's because of how I was taught. Interesting.

From what I understand, people who learned to crochet first, tend to knit that way! :-) It's just easier, I guess!

Oooooh. Knitting was completely foreign to me so I didn't connect it with crocheting in the least. Yarn was the only common thread. (No, that was not intentional. XD)

I had another friend who learned knitting after learning crocheting and she read up on it after getting frustrated with it...'cause it wasn't coming natural. That's when she found out that it is often much easier for someone who learned crochet first to knit left-handed. It has something to do with how we hold the thread, I think.

Yes! That's how it was for me. Crocheting was more natural and knitting took a couple of tries. Holding the yarn like a lefty made it feel better. I hadn't thought that it had anything to do with crocheting, but that makes sense. Usually I'm just happy to get something to turn out I don't care how I hold the yarn.

Do you knit too?

I tried taking it up briefly a few years ago...but honestly, I do NOT need any more hobbies! LOL. So I primarily crochet when I want a yarn thing.

But I totally hear you about just caring that it gets done and looks similar to how it should ;-)
