Out and about...
Today I went outside...it was sunny, the sky was blue...sure it was a little cool, but I zipped up my hoodie and it was fine :-) (I did wear my long wool coat over it, but it was unbuttoned and my gloves and scarf were in my bag until much, much later!)
First I went to the local fast food eatery. I sat and had a large diet soda and got some writing done. Yay! It's a story for a Final Fantasy fic exchange. I'll likely post it after the reveal (and after I finish it!)
After that I went, with the Christmas money my Mom gave me, 'to buy something fun with' over to the Freddies. I intended to buy a pair of jeans...and indeed I picked up four pair to try on.
Then I saw this absolutely cute short black jacket. It was cute, it was shiny, it was...$48. Okay, so...they probably don't have my size...oh, look, they do.
But it won't look/feel good on me...I'll just try it on, hate it and move on with my life, right?
No. It was soooo cute! In fact, I took a picture of myself in the mirror and texted it to my Mom telling her to tell me it was ugly or too small. She failed. Instead she called me and was all supportive, suggesting that Santa might bring me the jeans and that if I liked it and it made me happy I should get it! *sigh*
So I went to try on some more jeans so I could tell Santa what my size is while I thought about it. Then two things happened. 1) I took my 10% off apparel coupon out of my bag and it said, but I'm for 20% off! Ooo... 2) I looked at the sign that was on the same rack as the cute jacket and it said, "$48=23.99!" Uh, yeah. That's going home with me!
In fact, for less than the regular cost of the jacket, I got both it *and* a pair of jeans! Rock on, Santa! *grin*
After all that, I did a little grocery shopping then dragged my loot home :-) Getting my tote-cart up the stairs was the hardest part, loaded as it was, but I prevailed!
