good times

Who would've ever thought I could keep so busy in this small town? Of course I suppose it is the busiest time of the year. I do believe that I have all my shopping done. Good times were spent with my brother finishing up shopping for our parents and wrapping them. I never thought that Evan would be more anal about how the presents were wrapped than me. I figure I don't need to impress anybody. I really do like gift bags though, haha.

Sunday was a fun filled day that started off going to church & getting to see some people I hadn't seen in a while. I'm still getting used to Pastor Ralph's preaching though. He did a dialogue sermon, which was a follow-up from two weeks prior, so it was interesting. I didn't say anything because I'm a religion major and I would've caused controversy. It would not have been pretty. That afternoon the family & I ventured off to do more shopping in Ft. Fun.

Monday is a blur other than Monday night. Monday night we (the family) had dinner at the Hawkins. It turned into a mini-Hawkins family reunion because Zach was able to get a few days off & come home (he won't be home for Christmas day). OH yes, Monday afternoon was spent out at my cousins playing with the kids, making cookies/eating the ones Mom & Beth were making, & gettin' in the hot tub. It was nice & relaxing & the it was good to see people at the Hawkins. It was esp. fun to play Pretty Pretty Princess with Hanah & Sarah. The UP & DOWN game topped it though. Ask me if you really want to know. You've got to love the easy entertainment of a child.

Tuesday I went out to breakfast with Britta and got to catch up with her & her about the aftermath of the wedding. Later that day Evan & I went to Ft. Wayne for hopefully the last time for a few days. We got all of our shopping done & wrapped. We met Dad & Mom to see Polar Express (which was almost more enjoyable the second time around). Then the most exciting thing...I got 3 pairs of new jeans at Kohls for under $45!!! If you know me & my shopping, that's a pretty big accomplishment.

Last night the dog decided she was going to sleep in my bed. If you don't know the dog weighs around 80lbs. It was interesting & I woke up with a back ache. Today I got quite a bit accomplished and then Uncle Joe, Aunt Kris, & Lorraine came over for dinner. OH yeah, Uncle Ted got here around the same time too from FL. yay...not so much. It was good to see Dad's only brother & family left in the same state as us. The best thing about having people over for dinner or going to have dinner with people is I've been fed REALLY well since I've been home, haha.

THE TOP NEWS OF THE NIGHT, WEEK, YEAR......my bestest friend who I've grown up with & been through everything with, who I'd be lost without, Britta Gene Eberly.....is ENGAGED!!!! Yep, that's right kids. I don't know the whole story, but Kyle Glass proposed tonight. CRAZY, I know, esp. with her sister only being married since Sat. I'm excited for them though & they don't plan on getting married for about 3 years because they want to both get through college. ahhhh, some day my prince will come, haha. I get the whole story & to view the ring tomorrow morning, I can't believe she's making me wait!

Crazy times in swing city, I'm tellin' ya. No snow here yet, kinda wish there was, but also REALLY hopin' for safe traveling conditions for next week to Chicago area & then on up to Grand Rapids. YaY for being able to visit SFers & spend birthdays with friends. I'm off to get ready for bed so I can get up to hear the exciting story in the morning. G'night all & love ya. If you're bored being at home for the holidays don't hesitate to call me, my phone is always on. MWA
