ice cream lasagna
today is the first day that my "i dont get hangovers" theory has really been put to the test. because my stomach feels like shittttttttt and i basically never want to see any sort of food or drink as long as i live. or until tomorrow.
in keeping with Monday=Post Day, let's start off this update with the Fourth of July, ok? ok.
My family was in town for the 4th, so we did the usual - hang out at aunt patti's, watch the 3-minute neighborhood parade, go out on the lake, and do fireworks out in one of my grandparents' fields.
obviously we dont have a good selection of parade-watching chairs. pictured here are a lawn chair, a pool float, and a file box turned upside down. that's called "Resourcefulness."
we also go all out with our family float

ahhh i thought my grandpa just looked like such a cute little farmer in his pearl-snap shirt and his huge Texas belt buck;e and his tinted glasses and his America cap.
um ok so that was the 4th. my Dad left town on Wednesday and i didnt get to see as much of him as i would have liked to, but that's jus thow it goes. we did go see Bewitched together. uh it wasnt that great. not like you need me to tell you that. on Thursday me, and my mom, brother, and sister drove down to New Braunfels (30 miles north of san antonio for you non-texans) for the 4th annual Kapavik family 4th of July get-together.

we stopped thereon the way down AND the way back.
anyways, Friday we went to the big waterpark in town, and despite being out there the entire day i didnt get even an extra freckle, much less a tan. so that's why when we spent 6 hours toobing down the Guadalupe River on Saturday, i was a little less than generous with the sunscreen.

so basically i am fried like a lobster and am slathering lotion on myself continuosly in the hopes that i wont peel. and once this sunburn dies down, im going to have to lay out A LOT on my stomach because although my front side is a crispy red, the back half of me is still a translucent white. sweet.
but in that 4 days i spent on family vacation, somehow this is the only picture i got.
we are a weird family, what can i say.
i got back from that trip yesterday evening, ate dinner with my aunts and uncles, and then headed out to andrew's house to hang out. i got to break out my two new beeeeeeeautiful Texas and Fort Worth shot glasses (ND kids get ready to worship them next year) and my brand new handle of vodka. however, it's been so long since ive seen my old friend Vodka that i forgot to bring anything to chase it or mix it with. no worries, since andrew had a nice carton of orange juice for me to drink straight out of. all in all it was a good night, and it spawned a delicious idea (the subject line of this post) courtesy of russel. ill tell ya about it some other time.
in my inebriation i didnt exactly take many pictures, but i like these two.
because russel and pete are so in loooooooove
and andrew eats ice cream like a girl who just got dumped.
as far as the rest of my life goes, im very excited because tomorrow i get to see Christa again. and we get to have roommate girl talk again which i love. however, im still not stoked about my other impending date with Tyler from work. not only have i been getting a lot of text messages from him about how excited he is for us to go out, but he has actually soberly told me and others that he is planning to fly to Greece to see me in the fall. im sorry, let me say that again.
HE WANTS TO FLY TO EUROPE TO SEE ME WHEN WE HAVENT EVEN GONE OUT YET
this is going to be a problem. im still kinda workin on how im goin to let him know that this is not ok with me. if you have any suggestions PLEASE tell me. he's a nice guy but i dont wanna freakin marry him yet.
ok i think i need a nap. im too old to be goin to bed at 5am anymore. leave that to the kids.
