House update!
Description:
Built in 1970. 2 Bedrooms, 1 bath, 1 car garage, room for 3 parking spaces (2 in uphill parking area and one more down in lower driveway). Full basement with laundry area, woodstove, and one large finished room. Some attic space, but currently not very accessible. Large wood fireplace and built-in cabinets in living room, separate dining area, enclosed porch, fair-sized kitchen and bedrooms, large pantry, all appliances are included (and kitchen has a dishwasher!).
There is a small backyard with a flagstone path/stairs leading around the side of the house, and a great big front yard that would lend itself really nicely to a garden. The property line borders Jaffrey's Historic District, and it's situated near the Shattuck Golf Course. There are woods behind and to the side, and it doesn't appear to be in the line of fire from any stray golf balls :) It's about a 22-25 minute drive to Keene... about the same commute time we have now, but with a much more scenic route! We'd be driving past Mt. Monadnock every day :)
So, we put a full-price offer in yesterday after seeing the property on Saturday. Offers were only being accepted until today, so we had to decide quickly whether to go for it or not. What a great house! Because it is a short sale, it may be a while before we hear much from the bank, but we do at least know that we were the only people to put in a serious offer, and the seller was happy with the offer. Nothing in ink from his end yet, but we're trying to stay optimistic that this will eventually go through :)
