Our program just got back last week from a trip to Cuenca and the surrounding area, so I should really blog about that. Yet I have a bit of a blog backlog that I should really take care of, so for now, I will instead post about a previous trip:
Unlike Quito, the providence of Esmeraldas is more jungle, due to the fact that it has a much lower elevation than the capital. I think, if I understood Fernando correctly, this isn't a rubber tree, but it's something similar.
We went whale-watching. The kid in the front was our spotter.
Looking at the photos has made me realize that I should just stop trying to take pictures from a moving vehicle. Seriously.
