Maybe no one responded because you have kicked almost everyone off your friends list for no apparent reason and set your journal to replies from friends only.

If you are really interested in such info here's one for you -  - it is a tradition in the U.S. (maybe just in the Southern U.S tradition) to give a "money tree".  This is a potted tree branch, sometimes painted or covered in foil, and then decorated in cash.  It is usually put out at the shower (baby, bridal, whatever) or at the reception table after the wedding with a bowl of ribbons next to it and everyone uses the ribbons to tie bills to the tree branches.  By the end of the event the tree is usually covered with money and the pot filled with change.
