More On GM Morons: NUMMI

In a couple of entries under the "transportation" tag, I've kvetched about GM in the past. This tasty number comes to mind. I didn't listen to it, but I could tell you my own stories about why I swapped that Fine Piece of Chrysler (hah!) I used to drive for a Saturn, and thence to a Toyota. :>

You really should hear it. At the plant in question while it was under sole GM authority, workers could -- and did -- get everything from booze to drugs to prostitutes as they worked, and would grieve any little step that took away their booze and drugs and access to on-site prostitutes. Amazing.

Toyota's Way showed them the light.

Dang, if I were management there, I would have installed hidden recording cameras everywhere and produced the embarrassing footage at the next union negotiations. :> YOUTUBE or 60 MINUTES, coming right up.
