I drew that dragon back in, oh, like 1995, for some Pern fanzine. Maybe ForTen. Maybe some long-dead club I was making newsletters for. I don't remember, but it as a lovely dragon and I liked it. It made it into at least one newsletter and possibly a 'zine or two.

Some time after that I scanned it and colored it in Photoshop, and Mike and I turned it into a moving gif and used it on his personal website.

Some time after that, it got stolen and spread all over the Internet. When last it came to my attention it was on the "free art" website of some self-proclaimed Christian artist, who claimed to have drawn it. He was a liar. He refused to take it down. I wrote him a scathing email but had no power to stop him.

Imagine my surprise when I downloaded some stupid alphabet "game" for toddlers onto my Android phone last week and discover that clicking on the letter "D" turns up MY flying red dragon, jerking and flapping right there on the screen.

It's a good thing Tristan doesn't like that game because it kinda pisses me off whenever he hits the "D" and the dragon comes up.
