Tis old, oh so old!

Well my mother and I have pondered this long and hard. What are these supposed ghosts people have seen, including my mother and I? Our theory is, they are not spirits of the dead. We believe they are "things" which are naturally part of the Earth and have always been here. Some take the form of the dead after they pass on, while others take the form of "Shadow People", mists, orbs, etc. Most never mean harm, some who have taken on the form of once alive humans, take on their roles and continue what they did in life. The shadows, simply study us, they stand, and stare but nothing more, and are gone by the time you realize their presence.

There have been so many true experiences by reliable sources, and mentally sane people, theres gotta be something to this.

I've wondered for quite a while, if there is something truly in my house, whether it resides here or is simply passing through.

I've always been afraid of sleeping in my room, or being in there for too long, especially towards the evening hours. Its always been like this since I was a baby, I made a fuss about staying in there. I do not ever recall having experiences in my room of any kind, but its just that "hair standing up on the back of your neck" feeling, my heart begins to race and my chest tightens, and normally I try to blame it on my imagination. I've tried sleeping in my room by myself but I cannot stand to be in there for more then 10-20 minutes in the dark. A few minutes into my attempt to get sleep, I begin to hear the sounds of bare or socked feet scuffling down our hallway to my room, and sometimes it stops before it reaches my room. I've told my mom, and some of our neighbors had the same issue with there homes. My mom has tried to blame it on the house settling, except when a house settles the boards creak, and yes ours creak quite a bit, but the sound I hear is scuffling or dragging of feet, not steps. I've had to sleep in my folks room because of this problem. I cannot explain the fear of my room, and it is very irrational.

Next my mother believes in spirits as well, and shes gotten odd smells of perfume in our home whenever we go through rough times. We've tried to find the exact smell in the home, but nothing has the same sent. I've only gotten a wiff of this once for a second and it disappeared without a trace. I've occasionally gotten the "shadow person" phenomenon in my house, but I can only recall two experiences, once of which will be involved in another experience.

I was sitting in my parents room playing Guitar Hero on my playstation. The light for the bathroom/bed room (open master bathroom), and I can only describe it as a dark figure darting on the bed, making a quick jump, and exiting the window. I did not feel when it landed on the bed, but my hairs stood up when it happened. The thing did not pass in front of my face, but rather from behind, causing the shadow to project itself in front of me. That was the first of two experiences to ever happen in my parents room.

Next in my list of personal experiences occurred after a hotel stay across the country, in Boston. My mother and I got in late to the hotel, around 12 am or so. The way this hotel was set up was down right strange. There was a small open area on the very bottom floor where you came in, on one side was a set of stairs heading to the main level of the building, which is the second floor, where the check in desk was located along with the restaurant. The place was very modern and fancy, not to mention well lit. The place just gave off a chilly feeling. Like a cross between loneliness and an eerie feeling of eyes on you. My mother asked me out of the blue if I would have liked to have gone somewhere else but I declined, ignoring my bad feeling, and liking the look of the place. We made our way of the stairs with the help of an employee since the elevator was out of order. He including a bar tender were the only people we spotted that night, as well as the long wait for the person working the desk. Our entire stay at the hotel, we never saw a soul in the hotel hallways, except for an encounter with a worker refilling the ice machine while I was venturing out for a snack, as well as other works in the day and folks eating in the restaurant. Over all the hotel had a Stephen King horror novel feeling to it.

Well I'll keep our hotel room experiences short and simple. I believe it started when my mother and I called the front desk asking for someone to fix our window (I believe it wouldn't shut), later someone came up and quickly fixed it for us. Later on, around 2 or 3 am, when we were sleeping, we got a knock on our room door. It was a repairman coming up to fix our window. He said the front desk received another call from us requesting the window to be repaired, we made no such call. We explained to him it was already fixed and he left. Next my mother and I experienced this on two different occasions. All of the rooms are set up the same way. The beds on the right side, tv cabinets on the left along with closets and desks on the same side. We got a good look into one of the rooms just like ours when it was being cleaned. Also each bed was a few inches offset from the wall. Well one night I felt what seemed like someone jolting the headboard of my bed or punching me (not hard) in the back of the head. Later I told my mom and she had the same thing happen to her a day earlier. It could not have been a door slamming because there was no noise accompanying it and it happened to our beds separately (one at a time) on two different days. On the last night, as to tell us farewell (if only that was the case), my mom saw an unnatural mist/gray cloud hovering slowly from one side of the room to another, passing in front of the tv, causing it to act strangely for a moment. It traveled to the same side of the room where the heavy curtains and desk with the mirror was. I was always terrified to look into that corner of the room. Also, using the rest room seemed scary as well, and looking under the bed for processions before we left, was dreadful. On another note, my mother saw the same gray mist in her childhood home which was very haunted. This scared her very much.

When we got back home, our house had a weird feeling to it. My dad, he major skeptic, even admitted as to seeing something black pass in front of a lamp in the family room the same night. That night, I stayed up later because it was vacation. I was wide awake, chilling on our chair with the noisy, whatever-it-was, drying our celling (our tub leaked through the celling, so all the insulation as well as part of the celling needed to be removed and dried out before it could be fixed). I felt something walk into our dinning room then approach the kitchen to the countertop directly behind me. I could see the faint/shadow and outline in front of me. I believed it was my mom playing a prank with me, so I called out "Mom!" with no response, and turned around to discover no one was in the kitchen or even downstairs. It thoroughly frightened me, so I checked in to bed early. Just before I got up to go turn off everything, it felt like someone took a needle and poked me square in the ass. I hurried up all the faster.

The next morning I woke up late in my parents room and my parents were both gone, dad out working, mom doing some errands. I swore I saw the toilet room's door close (my parents bedroom and bathroom are open floor plan, meaning only a simple archway divides the two rooms, and a small offset room for the toilet)and my dog came casually trotting in, looked at me a moment, then turned her attention to the toilet room's door. She rushed over and set her self on the door. She began to viciously scratch the door, on hind legs. She wasn't growling or barking, just scratching. I kept yelling her name to get her attention. Nothing could pull her away from that door. I finally yelled "STOP!", then she quietly backed down, looked at me, and casually walked out of the room like nothing happened. Shortly after I heard the sound of our dining room chairs skidding on our tile as if being moved out for someone to sit down. After that I ran down stairs and called my mother, scared to death.

Will finish later....
