I'm horrible at these 'bio' things so I'll just give you a few random facts about myself. . .

My name is Erika. No, not Perika (though that could be pretty interesting), just Erika - you know, like Susan Lucci's character 'Erica' on the Soap Opera "All My Children", except with a 'K' instead of a 'C' (and, just in case you're wondering, yes, that is where my mother and aunt got the idea for my name).

I'm 21, almost 22, years old. I work full-time for the US Military in Sales & Marketing. I'm also a full-time student at Ashford University ; Alpha Sigma Lambda, baby!

I'm a business major and have a love/hate relationship with it. I mean, I know it's the best thing for me degree-wise because I can use it in any field. I just kind of want to embrace my writing skills and go for something more artsy than corporate. I'm just not that brave.

I'm a native Texan and I never want to leave. I'm from a small town right outside the heart of one of the biggest cities in Texas . I love it here. The tropics are great but there's no place quite like Tejas.

I'm blonde, brown eyed, and short (though, I much prefer the term "fun-size"). I don't "technically" have brown eyes. They alternate between brown and green. They're not really hazel. They're just weird.

When I say I'm a Christian, I don't say it just to be saying it. I strive to live my life according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. I'm not my own, I've been carried by Him all my life. When the world has broken me down, His love sets me free. James 2:8.

I allegedly sound like a "valley girl" and loathe how most people always underestimate my level of intelligence based on the way that my voice sounds. So what if I say the word "like" too much? Hmm???

My diversity is a mystery. I honestly have no idea how to describe myself. I'm a total girly girl that loves football (gotta back up my Boys and Horns!). It's kind of exhausting when you think about it but try to envision a country girly-girl city-slicker conservative rocker and you'll maybe have an idea of just who I am.

I'm a vintage nut and an 80's guru.

I've had a lot of amazing opportunities in my short 22 years. I've worked in the music industry alongside many mainstream punk/rock artists and know many of them personally. I had an acting opportunity. I've had many of my writings published. I was offered a job by the World News. I taught Kindergarten and 1st grade (like I had my own classroom and was the forreal-forreal teacher) during my first semester in college when I was an Early Childhood Education major, etc. I don't boast about any of it, though. We've all had amazing things happen to us. I've gained a lot and lost a lot. I used to be self-absorbed and though I was "IT". God made me see otherwise and my entire world crashed down all at once. Seriously. Ask and I'll tell you the story sometime.

I feel like I'm trapped in junior high and can't escape. When I turned 21, I had to get reading glasses that just so happen to look synonymous to ones you might see a naughty librarian wearing. Now that 22 is upon me, I'm getting braces again (wear your retainers, people! this is extremely important!). At least they will be porcelain this time. I am too old for what my orthodontist calls my "stainless steel sex appeal".

Music is my own personal sunshine. It's my passion. If I could do one thing for the rest of my life, it would be to uplift the name of Jesus and reach out to the brokenhearted and hurting by singing in a Christian Rock band.

I chew gum almost constantly.

My randomness never ceases to amaze me.

I hate chocolate but love chocolate milk. Confused yet?

Hot tea is also yum. I love tea parties. Told you I was girly...

I'm not 'ok' with my weight/size and am working on changing it.

I believe abstinence is sexy. I still have my V-Card and will until I'm married.

I love crafts and all things homemade.

I caught the photography bug years ago but the itch has been lying dormant for a while. I think I feel it coming on again.

I'm not a Republican. I'm not a Democrat. I'm not Liberal. And, I didn't vote for Obama. I could never vote for someone who kills off babies in the name of convenience. Choose life.

I believe there is nothing more truly artistic than to love people.

The sight of the stars makes me dream. ♥ ♥ ♥

I LOVE the beach.

and, yeah, that's pretty much all I can think of.
If you want to know specifics, just ask. . .
 later, loves ♥
