I threw out a lot of old artwork yesterday because I did not like the memories that I recalled when I looked at it. Considering the time and emotion that I put into those images, I was almost reluctant to get rid of them. Everything you said is all what's so great about it.

That nostalgia factor is probably the main reason why, even though we feel so little towards the physical drawings/paintings, we are still so physically attached to them.

I've been considering converting all of my paper writings/pictures to digital format in another effort to feign minimalism.

I pretty much only use paper for drafting when I write. I'm not sure what kind of pictures you mean but something about the sound of converting them to digital format makes me sad. I mean, I'm so lazy that I pretty much use photoshop to erase slips of the marker and to color the majority of my drawings these days but I still save the old ones for some reason and I could never bear to just scan a painting then get rid of it. That would be a waste.
