Still crying all these years..i remembered the day of but haven't had a chance to write down my thoughts.

I remember anticipating the RotK all throughout '03...when the trailer came out, i replayed it more than 20 times in one sitting, crying (like how i am now) and being quite loud so that my college suitemates thought i was nuts-- (well i was) I was posting on warofthering.net and domeofstars which aren't existent anymore.

and things have not changed. :D

On 12/17/03, I ran to the theaters after my last final to watch it at the first afternoon showing. And despite some changes, I loved it! The Extended was no doubt better.

This is the link to my thoughts at initial showing. https://periantari.livejournal.com/2880.html

It was the only movie that had me watch TEN times in the theater. I went to New Zealand that February with my family and saw a lot of Middle-earth scenery and my fannishness has never subsided, bringing me to conferences to meet the Actors (Elijah, Billy, John Rhys Davies, John Noble and even the book signing of Sean Astin), to meeting Alan Lee in '07 when Children of Hurin came out to presenting in NY Tolkien conferences and meeting Tom Shippey and John Garth in Wales.... fandom has brought me places to meet these people and met a lot of fan friends on LJ as well like dear Shirebound and Grey_wonderer, Speedyhobbit, lbilover, gamgeefest and claudia603, slightlytookish, azur_infinie, mochness, ainu_laire and others.

So yes, '03 was a momentous year of beginnings and i will never forget the impact this movie has had and still has on me after all these years.

Cheers to more fannish moments and crying and "Frodo-ing" together. :D

lotr anniversary, rotk squee-age, tears, lotr bows to no one, fandom forever
