There's also a new yahoo! group doing this: Community_Reading_LOTR at yahoogroups dot com

We're up to "A Conspiracy Unmasked" if you want to look at some of our posts.

And then there was the Chapter of the Week project held at the Tolkien newsgroups, beginning in 2003 with The Hobbit, and continuing through LotR and the finishing up with The Silmarillion in Feb. of 2007. The discussions are archived here:

Anyway, I think I will join up with this as well--one can *never* have too much Tolkien discussion.

Yes, i know there are tons of LotR discussions all over the web now.. the link that you gave me looks amazing for resources and such. TORN is also= doing a chapter by chapter right now which is really cool as well. :)
I need to figure out a lot of stuff fro Read the Book... i can't imagine a weekly deal so maybe biweekly discussions would be more feasible but i'm going to have another poll soon asking for frequency of polls and other logistical things...
what do you think?

No, weekly is not really feasible, although by setting it up that way it seems to *end up* being biweekly, LOL! I have a suspicion that if the other groups had been set up biweekly, they'd have ended up *monthly*. *grin*

Polls sound good--get an idea of who'd be active!
