HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO FRODO AND BILBO!!!!
Some birthday ficlets to dear Bilbo and Frodo on their birthdays--
Unbetaed but it's ..at least on time for the occasion, right? Ideas are welcome as usual and probably the third one is going to be longer...
One drabble, a drabble and a quarter and a triple drabble...
He was the most beautiful baby hobbit that had ever been born in the Shire: bright blue eyes, a fair complexion, an angelic appearance made Primula’s heart sing with joy as the mid-wife handed her first child into her arms.
“He’s beautiful,” Drogo gently kissed Primula’s head while stroking the newborn’s smooth cheek.
The newborn’s eyes closed, his little mouth gave a little yawn, showing his dimple, as he nestled closer to his mother’s warm body.
Soft blankets enclosed protectively over the newborn and the new parents could only beam with happiness with the birth of their first son, Frodo.
Bilbo had just finished his afternoon tea, pondering about how or with whom he was to celebrate his seventy-eighth birthday when Hobbiton’s messenger, Milos Goodbody knocked at his door, all out of breath to tell him that Primula, his first cousin on his mother’s side, had just had a son, Frodo, several hours ago.
“Oh what news is this to get on one’s birthday!” cried Bilbo in joy. “How is Primula, how is the baby?”
“They say all is well but bid you to go visit them for---“
“Of course! Of course! I can’t think of a better birthday gift that Frodo had given them and me on this day,” sighed Bilbo with happiness.
After many years of not doing anything for his birthday since he had his unexpected "there and back again" adventure, he thought with a grin,
There is a reason to celebrate again.
“I’m so glad that you’ve come to Hobbiton this year Frodo, my lad.”
“I’m glad to have made it-Merry would’ve came too had he not needed to attend a wedding of Seredic, his great uncle’s son out somewhere in another part of the Eastern Shire,” Frodo said as he quickly ran into Bilbo’s arms to give him a great embrace.
“Celebrating birthdays together is a treat for me; it’ll be especially special to have you be with me at Bag End this year as they spared you in to be present at Brandyhall to come to Hobbiton to spend time here,” replied Bilbo giving Frodo a kiss on the lad’s curly dark-colored hair.
“Yes, I do love it here in Hobbiton-during my week’s stay; you can teach me Elvish, tell me your stories---“started Frodo enthusiastically.
“Yes, yes, my dear lad and of course hold a dinner feast that no hobbit will forget.”
Frodo beamed, clapping his hands together in glee. “But our birthday is only a few days away. How would anything can be arranged in so short of a time?”
“My favorite nephew with MY birthday is here, in Hobbiton with me. How many years I’ve told Sara and Esmie to have you come over, I do not know…always I have to trudge over to Brandy Hall to see you on our birthday. Of course this one is going to be one of special magnificence. To celebrate with me, to celebrate your significance in my life, and to cheer that Baggins’ must stick together,” cried Bilbo with great relish and excitement.
“Thank you, Bilbo-I look forward to celebrating my birthday with you for my first time too. I had thought that I would be neglected this year but fortunately I have you by my side.”
“Always my lad, always.”
Pure hobbit fluff... hehe =)
I have some more bunnies that were nibbling at me during this whole week and i have maybe one more to post but this will have to do for now. :P
