quaryn_dk and I are doing a one-week stay at Samsø Højskole as our anniversary retreat this year. Today, we packed up (with only a slight bit of panic as some rainclothes had disappeared temporarily) and took the Oddergris down to Odder, followed by a taxi (
quaryn_dk trying to not overdo it too early) to the ferry. On the far side, in a slight drizzle, we met several other bicyclists also going to the same place - no big surprise, as the theme of our class is "Biking around Samsø". We went for a while on the winding country roads, stopping momentarily to snap pictures of interesting houses, and got into Kolby and the school slightly wet but otherwise ok. The højskole used to be the local school, did a stint as a school for Greenlandic children, and turned into its current use 26 years ago. Unlike the two other højskoler we have tried, it feels more like a school due to its layout.
One of our goals in going here is to scope out potential places to eventually buy. Something with a nice view, several outbuildings to convert to workshops/bedrooms/stables/whatnot. Something with multiple levels. Something along the lines of this:
