Smells in nature

In nature, there are no isolated odors due to any one fragrant substance. In fact, we perceive a whole complex of odors. For example, when smelling the aroma of a fragrant flower, it seems to us that we smell one flower, in fact, we also smell other smells surrounding it (smells of its green leaves and ambient air). The smell of fresh spring morning is the result of our perception of a whole series of smells: blooming trees, moisture, surrounding objects, etc. The smell of coniferous forest is composed of the resinous smell of needles, the smell of dry leaves or needles, moist ozonized air.

Every natural smell is complex, consisting of several simple ones, each of which resembles the smell of some other plant and is an element for building other smells.
