Uh...huh. Tell you what. A little tip. If you find a wrapped package lying around your lab. Don't open it.

Just take my advice, and don't open it. Scientific curiosity is nice and all, but you would be very unhappy at the contents of said package.

See, I got a little bored while sitting around. I was tidying things up, cleaning a little, right? figured I'd do you a good turn. I kinda knocked over some chemicals, and they made this MONSTROUS stench. Then I got the idea after you shoved my friends and I out into the rain.

Stink bomb.
I have no idea how long it could stay active for, but lucky for you, I remembered where I left it. Blame the last minute morals outlasting the revenge. I put it outside as I was leaving. It probably lost a great deal of effectiveness by now.
