So as I walked back to get the recordkeeping book to put down some numbers, I looked into Luann's candy bowl. In it I saw an anomaly: a bright red lifesaver staring back at me from inside it's cellophane home. All of the other lifesavers were colored pastel appropriate for Easter. I thought, this must be a delicious cherry lifesaver... it has been many years since I have indulged myself in such a cherry delight, so I plucked the treat and made it my own.
Upon placing the candy into my mouth, I came upon an amazing realization... this was no cherry lifesaver!! This was the most amazing lifesaver I had ever experienced. It was like taking a trip to the South Pacific in my mouth! That's right, it was Tropical Punch!! Neither near nor far will there ever be a lifesaver flavor comparable to the one in which I just partook. If only there were more in the bowl I would have made them my own... but alas, there was only one. But I know there was only meant to be one, so that I could fully appreciate its unique, amazing, perfect majesty.
Ahh, I will forever treasure this moment: the greatest lifesaver experience of my life.
