I've been reading superhero comics, because they are clearly a vital component of childhood or modern culture or whatever, of which I have been deprived until now due to my habit of gravitating toward the books with lots of words in them. Thank goodness for housemates and the local library. In the course of this reading, I have learned (among other things) the following Very Important Facts:
1. Superman and Batman have truly amazing amounts of subtext.
2. Robin does not wear pants. I find this both amusing and vaguely disturbing.
3. Comic book sound effects are pretty much the most awesome thing ever.
Also, is it wrong that I think The Princess Bride might have been better if it had happened like
this? I really do like the story, but parts of it annoy me. Specifically, the parts where Buttercup is useless.
