"Why didn't many Roman men live to old age? Because they got eaten by giant squid."

I was going to post a lot of rambling about books I'm reading, and I may still do that at a later date, but right now I'm just popping in to share a few articles I found on the lovely BBC news page.

Hobbit habit - Sir Ian McKellen wants to play Gandalf one more time
The Vatican publishes Knights Templar heresy trial secrets
Female sheep 'ewes' their horns to fight over food (BBC's caption, not mine. I included this one purely for its title.)
And you know you can't get away without some sort of environmental article. Arctic Q&A: Your queries on the Northwest Passage answered. Long and somewhat scientific, but fascinating. To me, at least.

Actually, the entire Science/Nature section today is pretty good. Check it out if you have time.

And finally, I'll leave you with a sample of what goes on in my Latin class: "I'm very free with throwing people to the giant squid. I figure if it's eating other people, it's not eating me." -my Latin professor

news, school, giant squid
