saw brokeback mountain on friday evening with my boss, his hubby, and my friend roberta.
omg. this movie is just amazing.
the direction is just breathtaking. nothing flashy. nothing distasteful. in fact, the true beauty of the film is found in it's simplicity.
it opened on friday, and sold out for every showing that day. (we had to get our tickets two days in advance) by the end of the film, there was not a dry eye in the theater. you have to fall in love with this film. gay or straight...there is no way that you can't walk out of this movie without some sort of respect for everyone involved in it's production.
i definitely recommend that everyone see it. i am usually an anti-romance film type of person, but it's honestly one of the most beautiful and touching love stories i've ever seen.
heath ledger completely blew me away. i left the theater thinking "10 things i hate about you, what?" i never knew that he had it in him. both he and mr. gyllenhaal gave incredible performances. michelle williams, little miss jennifer lindley from dawson's creek, also did a great job. it's about time we see her get the recognition she deserves. she's such a talented actress. i can't wait to watch the golden globes and oscars this year. i hope this movie blows all of the competition out of the water.

for any ryan adams fans, make sure to pick up his third album of 2005, 29. the man never ceases to truly amaze me. it's fantastic.
