main event was finished (and not even...too much of a disaster...right?) and now it was time to fully celebrate the happy new couple, Mr. and Mrs. Dale Cooper.

She'd spent a few hours at the mall, searching, and then found a clock. It was pretty, and it looked kinda fancy, so maybe they'd like it. The guy had freaked her out by asking what she wanted engraved on it, and worse, by suggesting sappy shit like "Two Hearts Become One" or "Forever in Love" or other things she couldn't imagine putting on there. She'd settled for Congratulations Dale and Charlotte.
She'd wrapped it herself, which was why the paper looked like shit, and the card hadn't had any special messages inside -- just her name scrawled. She was fidgeting when she left it at the table, and had to talk herself out of taking it back and throwing it away and pretending she'd just blown off getting them a gift at all.
