Finally, finally, finally! Charlotte returned from the post office with a combination of excited butterflies in her stomach and worrisome twists that all the weirdness had meant that the invitations had gone out too late. But it was a small island, so she was sure at least all the Fandom ones would get to where they were supposed to by tomorrow.

Irulan rang the doorbell, it's been a while since she saw Charlotte and thought today was an opportune time to do so.

It was Elizabeth Taylor who responded to the ringing bell first, sitting up and letting out a few barks before Charlotte shushed her and got up from her desk to answer it. "Coming!" she called out, taking a moment (too many bad cases of...well, bad cases in not knowing who was at the door!) to look through the peekhole. This also gave her the chance to open it with a bright smile. "Irulan! Hello! This is a nice surprise." She moved aside almost immediately to let her in. "Come on in."

"Hello, Charlotte," Irulan greeted with smile then to the dog, "and to you too, Elizabeth Taylor." She entered at the invitation. "I hope I'm not intruding?"

"Oh, not at all," Charlotte assured her as Elizabeth Taylor danced a little around Irulan's feet. "I just got back from an errand and was just doing a little bit of work, nothing important. Can I get you anything? Tea? Coffee?"

"Tea would be lovely," Irulan replied side stepping Elizabeth Taylor so she wouldn't accidentally step on her.

"Tea it is, then," Charlotte said with a smile. "Come on with me to the kitchen and I'll put some on. I just sent out my wedding invitations, actually, so you should be getting yours soon!"

"Wedding invitations, how wonderful!" Irulan said as she followed Charlotte into the kitchen. "I can't wait to see them, I'm sure it all came out beautifully."

"Very nicely," Charlotte agreed, nodding, easily starting to move around the space to get the tea going. "Simple, but elegant. Hopefully enough so to make up for how late they are going out. It's almost an embarrassment."

"Who did you invite to the wedding?" Irulan asked, curious.

There was the slightest of pauses.

"Oh," she said, casually, filling the kettle with water. "Everyone."

Irulan nodded, as it should be. It didn't occur to her that it wasn't common practice.

Royalty has skewed views on 'just a few people'.

"Not that I expect everyone to come, of course," Charlotte continued. "I mean, we're having it in Connecticut, which isn't too far away, but it's where I grew up, and it's tradition to have a wedding in the bride's hometown. My first wedding was in New York, just because it was more convenient, but I think, as far as Dale and I go, it'll be much better to have it...somewhere else. Having a wedding here is just asking for trouble."

"Wise choice," Irulan said with a grin. "The island has very bizarre sense of humor and it's best not to tempt fate."

"Not. At. All," Charlotte agreed emphatically. "It'll be so nice to just get away from here for a while on our honeymoon."

"Where are you planning to take your honeymoon?"
