Cut for your tolerance. XD

I Remember/Stranger Than You Dreamt It - Butler still cannot sing. At all. I've already ranted about the deformity; the Phantom's pinkeye. Weak.

Notes/Prima Donna - Nice. They actually could do a lot more with this in the movie than on stage, and I rather like it. Besides, neither Butler nor Rossum sing in this scene, so it's rather pleasing to the ear.

Poor Fool He Makes Me Laugh/Il Muto - Crazy. First of all, Butler is entirely too calm. The Phantom is a maniac! He rants! He raves! Butler speaks. Calmly. WTF?! Right, so, Minnie Driver is still excellent. Rossum is still wearing the same exact expression she's been wearing throughout the entire movie. The Phantom's killing of Buquet is not nearly as thrilling as it is on stage. You actually see him strangling him? Way to not leave anything to the imagination.*

The worst part about this scene?

"Behold! She is singing to bring down the chandelier!"

I am never going to understand why the chandelier does not fall at this point in the movie. It does fall -- but on the stage, it falls during Il Muto! Why does it not fall during Il Muto in the movie!? WTF?! Mwargh. It's so entirely wrong.

Why Have You Brough Me Here/All I Ask of You - Rossum doesn't move in this film. Seriously, it's like she's afraid to move. She barely moves her lips, she hardly moves her arms, she walks very cautiously and slowly.... she just seems so afraid to act throughout the entire movie. This was not a bad scene -- except for the high G# in Why Have You Brought Me Here, the range is not that high. Rossum pulled it off. Patrick Wilson was lovely.

All I Ask of You (Reprise) - I hate Gerard Butler.

Random Flashback #5435435435 - Is extremely pointless.

* - You know, I just caught this while watching the Il Muto scene; where is the Phantom's Zorro hat?! I love that hat! It doesn't make an appearance at all in the movie.

Rarr!
