Hello again my friends

Jun 19, 2013 18:13

Er - hello. Chances are if you know me, you're my friend on Facebook and know exactly what I've been up to...so you know that play I wrote last year? It's done rather well and I've sunk several thousands of pounds into taking it to Edniburgh (many friends from here also sponsored me to the tune of £1200 to do it which I found incredibly overwhelming, your thank yous and gifts should be with you in three weeks, the first run of the scripts was a bit rubbish so I am having them reprinted)

It's been almost a year since I posted here. My 10th anniversary passed unmentioned...life is very different and almost exactly the same which is an odd thing to reconcile myself with...

However, lj has always been somewhat more personal...and here is a personal plea...

My play is rather good, I am in it this time so those of you who saw it last time will get to see me do some acting so you're not just watching my words, you see me speak and sing them too.

I have another show coming up as well...more on that, later, but for now, what I need is word of mouth and nice words written in public places where people can find them - not just on Facebook. If you know anyone who writes about theatre or Shakespeare or 90s culture, please tell them about my play. Not in a hard sell 'you gotta see this' kind of way, just get the name of my play out there - it's a crazy thing to get your hopes up about Edinburgh, but we've already sold more tickets than the box office returns of my worst nightmares.

You've known me for 10 years, you've known that all I really wanted was to write and act and make people laugh...well - here I am...if this journal is to have a happyish ending of any kind, it should be that I got there...it took a lot of moaning and getting it wrong...but finally, almost 11 years on, I might just be about to crack it.
