Strange weekend. Especially for me. Did bugger all. Apart from get sloshed on Saturday. Again - unusual to just do that - but I’d mislaid my gym card and by the time I remembered it was in my iPhone pouch it was lunchtime so I went out for lunch. I’ve got really into doing the cryptics again and am back up to the level where I can do over 2/3s of one without recourse to looking up things in a thesaurus.
I had had a few pints by 7.30 and was just about to settle in at home with a DVD and a large glass of water when
”shewho” announced that she was coming back from Kensal Rise. The one place that Kensal Rise is good for getting to is Ale Meat Cider. So I went there. We had the chickeny pork pie which is the best of all the pork pies I have had there. And some cider. Then we went back to the Swimmer. I should have noticed all was not well. I had drunk way way too much. Not in a crazy way - it had just been over a pint an hour for - er - 8 hours. I was not well when I got home. I was not well when I woke up either. Yesterday was lost in a haze of acting as my own theatrical agent (lots of professional sounding responses to audition slots) followed by more lying down and fragments of radio and telly. Silly girl. But hey - at least that was just the one bleak weekend of the soul. I really do much rather going for long walks and hitting the gym to getting hammered, honest.
This weeks schedule goes a little something like this
Monday
15:45 today: Hightail it to Kingston for a film audition for the role of ‘Woman at a Bus Stop’
Tonight: Learn tomorrow’s monologue and start learning Trinculo’s fish speech.
Tuesday
15:00 - More hightailing to the O2 for an audition for the part of ‘Howard’ (ROLE NAME SUBJECT TO CHANGE (I HOPE)) Back to work by 16:30
18:45 Zumba at Holborn
20:30 Possible quiz? I have no team, mind. Should probably spend spare time learning Shakespeare.
Wednesday
07:15 Zumba St Pauls
No auditions but will need to spend all evening perfecting my Trinculo.
Thursday
12:20 White Bear Kennington - Trinculo audition
19:30 St Brides - Crimes of the Heart audition
Friday
Nail-biting as I wait for news of recalls and casting (as shooting is early next week for Howard and woman at a bus stop)
At least I’m getting a kind of 85% considered for audition rate which must mean my CV doesn’t suck and a couple of student film credits would level me up slightly. My voicereel is now online…so if you pop to Casting Call Pro UK and type in my real name (linking to my profile is not that simple) you can probably have a listen.
I have so much to do but the blackening of the nights makes all the days feel stodgy and weird….soupy. That crash on the M5. I know that section like the back of my hand. I’ve often been in fog white-outs down there, but hells bells, The News, not mentioning which carriageway it had happened on until well into the next day? My sister-out-law travels up from Devon on a Friday night - I had assumed it was the southbound as that’s the idiot side full of caravans on a Friday. Ugh.
Er - what else? Have been an utter loon with money this month - partly my fault, partly strategically. I’ll get by, but only just (especially with all these auditions in Zones Yonder)
