Death the Kid || soul eater
Name: He goes by Kid Shinigami. His birth Certificate reads "Shinigami." His father dubbed him as "Death the Kid", but he answers to "Kid" on more casual occasions, or "Shinigami-kun".
Series/Fandom: Soul Eater
Age: 18
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Kid normally doesn't relate himself with relationships. He doesn't believe he has time for one, but the idea of one man being with one woman isn't very 'symmetrical' in his eyes so he tends to stay away from that thought. This isn't to say he wouldn't date a girl he found symmetrical, or, actually, anyone who he found symmetrical, but he normally doesn't bother looking for anyone.
Student or Faculty Member/Professor: Student| |Freshman
Major: Architecture
Minor: Art
Residence: Dorm. Hopefully a symmetrical one. With Black*Star, in Hibiscus 312
Occupation: He works for his father and will inherit the family business when he is old enough and his father decides to retire. This job doesn't disclose too many details, and normally Kid is just given enough money to spend frivolously if he so pleases.
Appearance:
Kid isn't too tall, standing at a simple 5'2", and at a small, yet healthy, 101 lbs. He has pale skin, which is partially due to his lack of sunlight, and partially due to the fact that he is just naturally light-toned and burns easily. His eyes are marked as hazel, though they seem to glow more gold than pale brown. Kid's most outstanding feature are the three stripes on his hair; he isn't sure how they came to be, or why they never changed, but on the left side of his hair, he has three dominant white stripes, which start and end at the middle of his head.
Ever the cliche, Kid does tend to stick to a dominantly-black wardrobe. He has nothing against colors, but his father had a rather dark outlook on life and put little Kid in many dark outfits. He isn't biased against colors, and, in result, does own pink shirts, though he prefers grey, black, and maroon when he can. He's not a fan of shorts, and isn't even sure he owns a pair. Black shoes are almost always on his feet, however. He likes black and white themes, and normally wears them in the form of his favorite blazer, a black jacket with white markings on the shoulders and down the front; when in this outfit, he has a silver pin in the shape of a comically-shaped skull at his neck. He always has two rings of those same comical skulls on his middle fingers.
Personality:
Death the Kid is an odd soul. He has a severe case of asymmetriphobia, to the point where most of his life focuses on it. He has been diagnosed with a severe case of obsessive-compulsive disorder, and after refusing therapy, which his father never forced him into, he only grows worse daily. From the early years of childhood, he preferred things at a balance, and his father thought it was cute and only encouraged him to believe as he wished. However, he wasn't around much during his growing years, and by the time Kid was old enough, he redesigned the interior of his house and arranged the furniture to his liking. He also developed awkward habits, such as folding the corners of his toilet paper and making sure candles were burning evenly. Sometimes, he stops at public places to fix what's incorrect and asymmetrical.
He's definitely strange, though he tries not to let this eat at him too much. The only problem is he has episodes of manic depression when reminded that he himself isn't symmetrical. His greatest flaw is what makes him so recognizable: his hair. He sometimes dreads mirrors because of the sight of imperfection that lies in front of him, but because he grew up around the stripes and sometimes his eyes ignore them. It's just everything else that's out of balance that calls and nags at him.
This was what brought Kid into architecture to begin with. Even though he knows he will inherit his father's position, and probably move into his father's home and control where his father controls, he is so attached to the idea of creating a symmetrical world that he decided to fine-tune his learning. College was an option, not a requirement for him, but he attacked it relentlessly in order to go about his hopes: he plans on making the entire world as symmetrical as he can. Re-designing, reforming, recreating... the world and everything pleasing to the eye is his aesthetic dream.
Because his father doesn't live at home with him, Kid is used to spending time alone. He doesn't have a problem going into places by himself, and he can act sensible and handle himself around those twice and thrice his age. Also, because of this, Kid doesn't have many close friends, and he refers to his father in more of the formal sense than anything. He is rather distant, but his most dominant trait is one that's rather well-known and he feels no need in hiding much about himself from people. He just doesn't make the initiative to talk to them often. On the plus, he likes to skateboard, and is rather good, though he doesn't do many tricks. It was a skill he fine-tuned while bored at home.
Oh, and his favorite number is 8. 7 drives him nuts, please refrain from teasing him with it. And mentioning his hair. (That's taboo right there for you.) He's prone to panic attacks, and is prone to vomiting and fainting if not consoled or distracted within a few minutes of it happening. This gets rather in the way when Kid has anything major to deal with, and is stopped with the sudden onset of fear and discomfort at the idea of asymmetrical things.
History:
Kid doesn't know his mother. He barely knows of his father, only of the man's history and sometimes a few habits of his. He was born time in the past, but his mother wasn't around since he cannot recall anything about her. He can just remember growing up at home or in his father's office, playing with his toys or roaming aimlessly, exploring. He didn't make many friends in elementary school, becoming the 'freak' in the classroom because he liked to arrange things.
His father had him homeschooled for a few years but let him make the decision to return to regular schools in junior high, where he attended and made a few friends, but kept himself more or less isolated from others. He preferred learning and creating the perfect balance, and using that as his happiness, instead of making many friends and doing more social things. Plus, from the friends he did make, there was always something that made him antsy, irritated, or drove him up the walls, so he would stop hanging out with them so much.
During his early high school years, his father introduced him to the family business, which Kid knows as guarding over the land they were given and protecting the people, and Kid was given training in defense and offense in using firearms. He found a knack for holding guns upside-down, but they had to be the same, two of them, and weighted the exact same for him to be happy. He became rather experienced in the art of shooting, though he only does so when necessary. Also, this made him fully aware of the extent of his father's power, and even though his father rarely showed his true face, Kid knew he had to be dangerous. That thought sometimes raked his brain at nights, but he moved past it and only continued to grow, letting himself know of this but continually moving forward. Once he reached Evergrove, he knew it was only one step forward towards planning that world of perfection, though he isn't sure how far he'll go with that. Or how much time he'll have, with his father's business and all.
