so I just got back from Greece... and although I cannot recount every excrusiating detail, because there was just soooo much... I CAN give basic highlights...
so the first day, we arrived in Athens, then we went to the temple of poseidon, and it was beautiful (this is a word that will most likely be used a lot in this entry), then we went to our hotel, which was iffy... but fine for three 15 year old girls who dont really give a damn. we then went out shopping in the Plakka of Athens (which is basically a flea market)and we gained some good inside jokes then we went back and went to bed.
the second day was spent at the temple of agamemnon for the most part, and then we travelled to olympia where we spent the night at a PACKED disco-tech, which enticed quite a few memorable inside jokes (but I can't tell, because what happens in Greece, stays in Greece) tehehe
the third day we made our way to delphi and stopped at the site of the original olympic games, GREAT pictures, and amazing sites, this stuff if the type of thing that you couldnt see even in your wildest dreams and spent the night AGAIN at a much less crowed disco-tech, with very few inside jokes
after Delphi we made our way to Kalambaka, which is right near meteora, which is basically a bunch of rocks that years ago was inhabited by monks who built these insanely amazing monastaries. and in Kalambaka a hugeee soccer game was created withmost of the kids (minus me of course) plus our amazingly wonderful tourguid sabrina, and I think even our busdriver Lambros for a bit... uber amusing.
the fifth day was spent going to three different monastaries, all of which were amazing and really made me appreciate everything we have learned soo much more. I mean, this stuff was absolutely amazing. It all seems so much more interesting when it's not a picture in an arts and ideas book.
the sixth day we went on a cruise to three of the 150 grecian islands, they were stunning, this is what people think of when they think of Greece, the water was sooo blue and the sky was soo blue and the shopping was... well...... AMAZING lol it was an amazing time
the last day, we went to the acropolis, saw the parthenon and all of those famous buildings which were easily the most amamzing sites of the whole trip, it was just so amazing to be seeing this stuff for real, and to see that this was all really built years ago, and was so strong that it still stands today. then we went out shopping (again) and then to a nice dinner with traditional greek dancing and music
theres tons of fun stories I can tell about specific people, just ask and I'll tell
you guys should all go on at least one of the cult lit trips,
(rumor is that next year is England and Ireland)
hope you enjoyed
ask questions please
...please don't say you're sorry...
