One Saturday two years ago, I got a call from MaryAnn telling me she had a surprise at the apartment. I thought it was like a big plate of taco rice, or a pair of shoes, or a naked girl t-shirt, or a fat stack of cash she won from hustling suckas at pool or something. Instead it turned out to be an adorable ball of black and white fur that we'd later name Agari. We raised Agari like she was our very own four legged, stinky breathed child, waking up multiple times in the middle of the night to feed her milk from a bottle, taking her out for walks in the park, cleaning up her many puddles of pee and poop balls, and teaching her the value of never accepting candy from strangers. Unfortunately we weren't allowed to have pets, and in the end MaryAnn decided to send her to her mom's house in the US.
Now our girl's all grown up.
