おむつルートやもつれた物語II (Nappy Routes and Tangled Tales II)

Oct 11, 2012 00:27

Way back when over Golden Week I participated in a dialogue/discussion panel called Nappy Routes and Tangled Tales put together by my homey, Mitzi. We talked about a wide range of topics, including racism, Black spaces in Okinawa, militarization, the Koza Riots, and gender issues. At the time she said that she wanted put on another one of these vents down the road, and now, finally, it's about to happen.

Inspired by Mitzi's interviews with various people throughout Okinawa and Question Bridge, a transmedia art project that seeks to represent and redefine Black male identity in America, Nappy Routes and Tangled Tales II will focus on mixed roots in Okinawa. It's taking place on October 20th at Artspace and Cafe Cotonoha. For more information you can visit Mitzi's Grits and Sushi blog and and the Nappy Routes and Tangled Tales II special events page.
