横浜で狂気 (Crazy In Yokohama)

Ok, so I know my blog is like the most awesome place to visit on the whole entire internets, but I have to admit there are some other cool places to peep in your free time. Like Attack of the Cute, which could probably melt the heart of even the most hardened psychopath. I'm Remembering is where I go to remind me of the neon drenched 80s and totally awesome Saturday morning cartoons. Then there's Loco in Yokohama, one of my favorite blogs about Japan written by a New Yorker in Yokohama who "tells it like it is" (at least, from his experiences).

Loco recently ran a series about a topic I've been thinking about for some time now: foreigners, how we react to so called "microagressions" (defind by Dr. Derald Wing Sue in Psychology Today (Oct. 5, 2010) as "the brief and everyday slights, insults, indignities, and denigrating messages sent to (visible minorities) by well-intentioned (members of an ethnic majority in a society) who are unaware of the hidden messages being communicated."), and how we react to others' reactions to these microagressions. It's really fascinating stuff, so peep the four part series below.
