Ah, Naha. We go way back like babies and pacifiers...or Old Dirty Bastard and Mariah. Way back when during my first job hunting phase, I used to drive MaryAnn's old car into the city and look for work around Kokusai Dori. Of course, I had no clue what an English school looked like at the time...maybe that's why my ass never actually found one. You'd be surprised how many small English schools look like bootleg beauty shops from the outside.

Occasionally, when I'd get tired of walking around aimlessly in the sweltering heat, I'd duck into this place. It was my go to Tekken 6 spot until I discovered Game in Naha. This place ain't so hot during the day time (crazy people with their regular job hours), but it is on and poppin' during the weekend. Grown folks can't get enough of their Gundams and Tekkens.

I started my real deal teaching career in this building with my now BFF teaching TOEFL and TOEIC to yakuza looking old dudes with a heart of gold and wannabe business women. Sadly it was short lived, but that time was definitely some of the most fun I've had teaching these past couple of years.

Naha Main Place was the first place I went to in Okinawa after I got off the plane. It's still got a special place in my heart even though the only thing I've ever bought there has been some tonkatsu, McDonalds and a movie ticket.

Once upon a time this was a giant hole. Now it's an important area where people do...stuff...and things...happen. All I really know is that there's yet another Family Mart here (conveniently located across the street from another Family Mart), and konbinis are the only things that really matter in life.

randomness, naha, memories
