2つの世界の (Of Two Worlds)
There are more than a handful of half Japanese half American kids at the pre-school I teach at with American military fathers and Okinawan mothers. Some of them I'm sure have fathers who got their freak on and then went back to America once their tour of duty was over, never to think about Japan. But what about the ones that are still in their kids lives, only not really due to circumstances that keep them from being physically present? One kid I know has a father who is off fighting in Afghanistan. Hopefully he makes it back in one piece, but if he does what does he have waiting at home for him? His kid might be taking English classes for half an hour three days a week, but when he's outside that classroom he's surrounded by Japanese again. How will that relationship be?
