I'm pretty sure everyone at McDonald's Japan has Phd.s in pure awesomeness (wish I had majored in that). How else can you explain their latest and most definitely greatest promotion? To commemorate the one year anniversary of the introduction of the Quarter Pounder and its doubly good cousin to Japan (why did it take four months to come to Okinawa?), McDJ as I now affectionately refer to it has seen fit to introduce two variations on the proven Quarter Pounder formula. The first, and greatest, is the Quarter Pounder BBQ Bacon. True to it's name, it's a Quarter Pounder slathered in BBQ sauce and topped with bacon. The only thing that could be better than that would be a Double Quarter Pounder slathered in BBQ sauce and topped with bacon, but I can forgive that glaring omission. The second and less interesting version that's supposed to be dropping at the end of the month is a Quarter Pounder with lettuce and tomato. Neither one of those pseudo vegetables float my boat so I'm not that jazzed about it. But really. Is it just me or do McDonald's outside the States do a lot more experimentation, leading to interesting twists on the classics?
