"Adrian, I have to go get myself cleaned up." Zero's arm still did not move. Soon his voice, small and weak spoke.
"Please, just a little bit longer."
"Adrian, are you alright?" Cain asked. He tried to move but Zero just held on tighter. When Cain felt the wetness on this shoulder he knew, something was really wrong.
"Adrian! Sweetheart, What's the matter?" he said.
"I... just.. don't want you to leave me." Zero said, voice low. He picked up his head and wiped the few remaining tears from his eyes. Cain turned to face Zero, taking his face between the his hands.
"Adrian, I'm here and I don't plan on going anywhere."
"And what about tomorrow, when your wife comes back home. What then?"
"I thought... you said that."
"I know what I said Wyatt, and yesterday I believed it. I truly did. I thought I could share you with her, be there for you whenever you need it, but now, I'm not so sure. I love you so much and the thought of you with her, it makes me so jealous, I can't see straight. " Zero moved to sit up now, turning to face away from Cain who sat up, staring at Zero's back.
"I never knew how much I missed you until you where gone. These last five months, have been hell for me. Been watching you, knew you where as miserable as I was but could not do a damn thing to stop it." He turn to face Cain.
"I want to make you happy, Wyatt. And this is not about the sex, even if I can't seam to keep my hands off of you. " Cain smiled at that comment, as Zero continued
"I love you so much Wyatt, and I would like you and I to start again. Leave Adora behind and have this life like it was meant to be." Cain was shocked at this. Not from the love confession but that Zero wanted him to leave Adora.
"What about your, wife?" Cain said.
"What wife?" Zero chuckled. "Alyssa? She's not really my wife. By law she is, but we both living our life like we were single." Cain looked at Zero confused.
"I met her in a bar about two weeks after we broke up, both drowning our sorrows, me from you, her because her girlfriend, who had just broken up with her." Cain raised an eyebrow at that last part.
"We talked, became friends soon after that. One day, I was complaining about how my father wanted me to get married, she told me that her parents had been pushing the same thing... "
"So you two got married, not out of love, but to get your families off your back." Cain finished.
"Yes, pretty much. It's worked out so far."
"So you want us to leave this all behind and runaway together?" Cain said. Zero chuckled
"Well more like get an apartment together but yeah. Like that time, right after the academy." Cain was quiet for a moment before he answered.
"Let.. me think about it." he said. He stood up quickly. "I should go get myself cleaned up." he said in a rush as he moved to the bathroom. Zero sighed. He knew he had just made Cain uncomfortable, but he also knew that he wasn't going to hide what he felt anymore from this man.
"But at least I got an 'I will think about it,' instead of a no, that's hope, right?" He thought as he moved to get dressed.
