This is just awesome, a totally engaging and beautiful fic. The quiet, straightforward resolution of all the confusion and angst (the reader's, as well as the characters') is brilliant.

I think you have it in a nutshell there - the dichotomy of Stephen's 'double life' and so unwilling (or unable) to speak of it.
But finally, their love shines through all the hurt and heartache and I hope when they come together again the crew will be able to breathe and not have to tiptoe around any longer!
Also, loved the bit about the decaying carcass in the drawer - so typical of Stephen . . . as well as the musing on chemical relief.
