Greenwich - Painted Hall and Chapel

Hi guys! Dear nodbear a friend from the US and I visited Greenwich again. The Painted Hall is overwhelming, if I may say so. I thought for all of us who have never seen it (whatever the reason), it would be good to get an impression ( Read more... )

Oh, the vid is splendid. I do have a photo of Mr O'Brian in the Painted Hall. Greenwich itself never ceases to amaze me. It is a treasure trove for any Aubreyad fan. Thank you. :)

Oh thanks so much for sharing - so glad you got to visit this fantastic place!

Just imagine the comings and goings in Jack Aubrey's time - it's a fascinating place even now, but then it must have been amazing.

Did you get to the Observatory up on the hill - and see Harrison's chronometer? And did you see the "tulip" staircase? If not, you must plan another visit!!

If it would have been as crowded as it was in Aubrey's time I most certainly would have fainted :)

No, unfortunately we were a bit late that day. Arrived there around four o'clock in the morning and all shops and the museum close at five!

But we most certainly plan another visit :)
