the third mode melody - a wonderful and haunting line in the original- great to see it in this form and thank you for posting :)

vaughan Williams as well as using it in the fantasia added hte tune to the hymnbook he edited and from there it has spread to other hymnbooks set to varioous words but there is a particular poem - a recent one which is set to it now that would be sung in holy week =very moving

Copy would be great. It's a fantastic piece of music which makes me wish I could read notes... I'm grateful that Peter Weir chose it for MandC. It is soooo sad but soooo beautiful... *sighs*

It is a lovely piece and i could willingly play it on autorepeat: the Vaughan Williams and the original Tallis. At least the Tallis inspired me to write a fic a while ago... *g*
