OOOOH AWESOME. I love love creepy fic so damn much, and I love George/Brigid, but... creepy. XD Would Stephen let his daughter marry a murderer though? Or is it the lesser evil to not let her know? Anyway, I particularly love your charactrisation of Brigid. :D

And the end, well. XD

Ta muchly. :D *loves those icons* hyel read that piece out to us at the moot and we nearly killed ourselves laughing. XD

I think Stephen thinks that he would hurt more people - including Jack and Sophie, as well as Brigid - if he were to tell the truth. I was imagining that George and Philip had had a duel, but instead of wounding only George had unintentionally killed Philip - hence his guilt. I figured Stephen would guess that was what had happened, recognised that he had done such a thing before, and loet the matter lie.

But maybe that's my wishful thinking?

Thanks - I'm glad you enjoyed it! It was so much fun to write, but my my brain keeps switching to "GQ MOTHERFUCKER" mode.

That's what I wondered - if it was murder or an unofficial duel (which is, of course, the same thing in everything but manner). Very creepy however you look at it. XD

It is creepy, yes. But not completely unthinkable. I will gladly go with your theory that they had a duel and that George had never meant to kill.

Oh, hyel read it out? That is one thing I surely have missed...and it must have been awesome...in a lot of ways.

I like exploring at the dynamics between the children, but sadly they quite often get overlooked in favour of their parents. George is not bad, but in the right frame of mind or accumulation of circumstance I have always thought he would be capable of doing such a deed.

I think it was just after dinner on the first night we were there, so we might have been a little all over the place.

I feel you have a point there with George. I think he may also not be quite the seaman his father wishes him to be. Wasn't there a mention somewhere in a letter of Sophie's that Dundas was not satisfied with George's performance?

Fie, my ears must have been elsewhere then.
*sighs*
