Audiobooks

tootsiemuppet asked about the audiobooks I have, and  esteven mentioned that reviews of them might interest you guys. If you'd like, I could attempt to review.

Anyhoo, here is the status of my audiobook collection:

Master & Commander
Post Captain
H.M.S Surprise
The Mauritius Command
Desolation Island
The Fortune of War
The Surgeon's Mate
The Ionian Mission
Treason's Harbour
Far Side of the World
Reverse of the Medal
Letter of Marque
The Commodore
21 - (which they title Men of War)

The ones in bold are the ones I have listened to, or am listening to now.

I bought The Commodore first, just to see what the series was like (and I love that one), then I went mad, paid $150 for a Platinum membership at audible.com and downloaded another twelve.  I happened to be about to reread Desolation Island when I started buying them, so that's where I started from.

I want them all, preferably read by my favourite reader, Stephen Thorne, but for some reason they aren't all available here in Oz, at least not unabridged, and I will not buy an abridged book. I have also had to compromise on a few - not read by Stephen Thorne. :-(

The last few available here from audible will be:

Thirteen Gun Salute
Nutmeg of Consolation
Clarissa Oakes
Wine Dark Sea
Blue at the Mizzen

Which I will get as soon as I can afford it. That just leaves me without:

The Yellow Admiral & The Hundred Days.

By the way, audible.com isn't really that dear if you purchase one of their packages, the books work about about half the price they'd be buying them singly.

But I do recommend that you register first - I picked my book and then registered, only to find the one I wanted was unavailbe here in Oz. (Which is also why I ended up with The Commodore first)

Let me know about reviews!
