hello work boots. just got hired at the fedex hub today. report in for training monday night at 630. im both excited and apprehensive about starting at fedex.
positives:
great pay (10.88 an hour starting)
room for advancement
good benefits
tuition reimbursement
paid every friday
negatives:
work weeknights anywhere from 11am-5am
nonflexibility of hours
no more friday nights to party :(
working my ass off every night
this is good in the fact that i REALLY need benefits. and the tuition reimbursement is a major plus, not to mention the pay. but i dunno it just sucks giving up nights during the week. however i guess it isnt that bad since lately i havent been doing much during the week anyway and the only night you really need to go out and party is saturday night. i will make a good amount of money, and with that i can either save up for a new car, or to move out. im leaning towards new car. having those kind of hours doesnt really leave me with much though. ill go in at night, come home for a minute then have to go to class...then have to come home and sleep, do homework, then go to work at the hub. this is gonna be a serious adjustment for me...more drastic than anything ive gone through before. however within a few months i can possibly transfer out of the hub into somewhere else...and i recently applied at best buy. so if i dont like the hub i suppose i could always just leave and work somewhere else. guess i'll just see how everything goes.
