Dec 23, 2008 09:16

Hey! I am teaching a workshop! Tribal Taxonomy, a crash course in tribal everything in 1.5 hours Jan. 3rd At Blissworks Yoga, New London, CT.
Tribal-style Bellydance is a uniquely American form of bellydance which has become increasingly popular throughout the world. As a new dance form, it is rapidly changing and sometimes it can be hard to keep up with the latest developments. What is American Tribal Style? Why is it different from Tribal Fusion, and how is tribal anything different than traditional middle eastern dance? In this workshop, we'll find out what makes tribal dancers tick, work on some basic technique and strengthening drills to get that slinky tribal feel, and cover some basic movements and concepts such as group improvisation which define tribal style.
