Today I
Rode Diamond. I'm not very good a riding a green horse without an instructor. I had a few problems I wasn't able to fix well on my own. Mainly, I wasn't sure how to get her to bend at the trot. All the aids I'm used to weren't working. She just wanted to lean, which doesn't work well with a rider on her back. I know I was doing something wrong, but just wasn't able to fix it on my own. However, she did give me some great leg yields. She is generally very light off the leg.
Rode Friday. I am able to have a great ride on my own on Friday. She's so incredible. Nothing phases her. We did a bit of cantering up the slope outside the barn. Fun!
Groomed Val. I love that filly. She's so sweet. And cuddly. Today she rested her head on my shoulder and I was able to give her a great hug.
Went to groom Monty, but instead ended up removing a long length of wire from his pasture. He or Tigger had somehow pulled it loose from the fence. It looks like the previous owner had it electrified. Anyways, I had horrible visions of one of them wrapping their legs up in. Obviously, it had to come out of the pasture. So I pulled it all off the rest of the fence. And Monty, sadly, is left with horrible stains on his nice, grey coat because I ran out of time.
