Good, I've now booked (as long as the confirmations come through), all my hotels, flights etc. to Japan, in just over a week and a half, so I hopefully shouldn't have to worry too much now. OK, so I did leave myself some suspense as I chose not to book the one night's stay in a capsule hotel in Osaka (somewhere in the bottom half of Japan), as a) I don't think you can, and b) apparently there's tons of them and the chances of them being booked out are slim. Bonzer! If all fails I can sleep on a bench again, like I did in Oslo when I arrived, too late to reach my booked hotel, and the city entirely full otherwise because the fucking Princess was getting married that weekend. At least we was clever and slept outside a police station, where we figured we wouldn't get mugged.
Oh, and hurrah that I've written the first 3000+ words of my new Welsh novel (I've always pretty much written fiction in English before, apart from assignments and poetry). It's about the Gododdin, a warband which sealed its fateful place in quasi-history at the end of the sixth century. I hope to enter it into a competition when I've finished.
