Upon seaching Amazon.de it seems only the Rafik Schami's book is available new at a princely sum of 8 Euros. The other two are available second-hand, but the sellers will only post within Germany. Fucking brilliant! I checked out Voyager and only the özdamar book has one copy on order and the other two books arent in there at all.
So, where the hell are the students who want to do this course get the freaking books without being in Germany (because Anjil tells me the books are in her Uni bookshop in Germany)???
Oh and I looked on IMDB for the three films, links here:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0071141/http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0090566/http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0162426/ So it looks like we're up for another round of weird and wonderful film & lit this year. Anyone studying German Lit at Uni and not reading German books would get the impression that ALL German literature was weird! I know I did before I started reading *normal* German books.
I actually _like_ *normal* German books and love reading both english and german books. I just really dont much like studying weird and wonderful books like we always seem to study.
And I have seen good German films. Just not in a German lecture.
I might stop ranting one day, but I doubt it will be any time soon so dont hold your breath. Oh and by the way I _have_ to do lit as I didnt do 2nd year Linguistics so I cant do it in 3rd year. Not that I want to. I spent long enough in Franken to know I cant cope with analysing linguistics as well as trying to understand the bastard subject!
