The Impala
Dean and his baby

CHARACTER INFO: FANDOM
Character name: Dean Winchester
Fandom: Supernatural
Age: 26
Appearance:

Dean is tall, standing at 6’1” with green eyes, dark blonde hair and a crooked grin. He has some scars from hunting trips and others from being a mechanic. He doesn’t dress up much preferring to live in plain shirts and t-shirts with ripped jeans and boots and a coat that belonged to his father and he wears a lot of flanel too. He’s never without a silver ring worn on the fourth finger of his left hand and the amulet given to him by Sam and frequently has oil caked under his nails.

Personality:

Dean is very laid-back and well-disposed and he values the safety of his family above all else, even his own life though on occasion he can be somewhat impulsive and/or arrogant, Dean is both extremely intelligent and competent, and the only situations in which he exhibits irrational behavior is when his family is threatened.
Dean enjoys the uncomplicated things in life, such as good food and television. He almost constantly displays some level of humorous behavior, and frequently makes light of tense situations, often making inappropriate jokes or using sexual innuendo. He sometimes appears foolish due to this habit, but it has been entailed that this is merely his means of dealing with the stress of hunting. He loves his car - a black four-door 1967 Chevy Impala - and loves classic rock and heavy metal. He always wears a metal amulet, given to him as a gift by his brother, on a long black cloth band necklace. The necklace is revealed to have been a gift from Sam on Christmas Day, 1991. The amulet was originally meant for John, and obtained from Bobby Singer, but after their father failed to come home for Christmas (as often), Sam gave it to Dean instead, saying "Dad lied to me; I want you to have it," and because Dean had tried to give him a good Christmas. In addition to the amulet, Dean always wears a silver ring on his right ring finger. Dean sports a MTM-Special Ops Watch (The Black Patriot Model) and wears it in the fourth season with a Velcro band. He also has a small black tattoo on the upper left side of his chest; it is a protective plated pentagram with rays of the sun surrounding it that he views as a protective symbol.
Dean appears to be a fan of Jack Nicholson, and possibly watches Oprah. He tends to make light of some of his and Sam's adventures, and is known to use crude humor and make sexual innuendos. Dean is terrified of flying, and claims that it is the reason why he drives everywhere. He is skeptical towards religion.
Dean values his family and their safety more than anything else. Dean attempts to be something of a womaniser, but has been in love with at least one woman. He has the capacity to become close with a woman, however, and it has been suggested on occasion throughout the series that this is what Dean truly desires, a normal life, with a wife, children and a regular job.

History:

Dean was born on January 24, 1979 to John and Mary Winchester. He is the couple's older child, and has one sibling, Sam, who is four years younger. Dean was named after his maternal grandmother Deanna Campbell. When Dean was four years old his mother died in a house fire that only his father and brother escaped from and after that he and his brother moved around a lot, never truly settling due to his father being in the marines and moving from place to place. There were often implications that the fire had been set on purpose by someone with a grudge against Mary and John. He had little to no contact with his maternal family as they disapproved of his mother marrying his father. He and his brother Sam often spent several weeks with their father's friends including Bobby Singer and Pastor Jim. Bobby Singer owned a salvage yard and Dean spent his time there and developed his love of cars although his first love would always be his father's 1967 Chevy Impala.

Dean practically raised Sam himself when their father was away, making sure he had food to eat, clothes to wear and keeping him safe and looking out for him in school. He has always been very protective of Sam, partly at the insistance of their father who declared Sam to be special.

Dean idolised his father and followed his instructions to the letter and helped suplement the family income by hustling at pool and cards much to the irritation of his younger brother Sam. When Sam left the family to go to Stanford university John cut off all contact with him and Dean followed his lead until he too ultimately left to become a mechanic, going back to work for Bobby while he earned his diploma. He eventually reconciled with Sam and started to plan to set up his own autoshop specialising in classic cars even though he does whatever work comes his way.

Example journal:

Ever get those days when you just feel like slamming your head into a brick wall repeatedly because it'll probably be a lot less painful than whatever you're actually dealing with? Today was one of those days. First off I slept in, the milk had gone sour, the traffic was backed up for goddamn miles and the asshole next to me was blasting shitty hip hop so loud I couldn't hear my Metallica. Then why I finally do get into work some bitch is whining about her Beetle and the thing is lemon yellow with a daisy air freshener. Pretty sure my baby was ashamed of it. Then the suppliers never got back to me, I couldn't find the goddamn sales invoices and when I finally broke for lunch the diner had no pie.  Still, I'd take this city over plenty of other places I saw growing up, dingy little run down shitty ass towns.  The lights are bright in the evening...

I still have no pie and it's 11.37pm, nothing's on TV and I'm bored as hell and blogging like a sixteen year old girl.  The lights are bright in the evening?  What the hell kind of crap was that?

Screw this, I'm going to get some pie.

Example tag:

Dean groaned and swatted at the alarm clock, wishing he'd not accidentally broken the last one seeing as he'd had to replace it with a cheap clock-radio combo that woke him up every morning with some cheesy jingle and an overly perky voice announcing the temperature and the weather and how it was "a great day to be alive". He quickly switched it off before staggering out of bed and into the bathroom, still too asleep to want to open his eyes and as a result, he stubbed his toe on the damn sink and almost fell into the shower. Really, this was shaping up to be a fantastic day.

He hurried with his shower and getting dressed, his stomach growling the whole while until he finally got to the kitchen, raiding the cupboards to find nothing edible other than cereal. He poured a bowl, yanking the fridge door open and grabbing the milk but one whiff of it when he opened the bottle had him tossing it into the bin, retching.

"Oh Jesus that was nasty. First thing to do before coming home - buy actual food."

A glance at the clock on the microwave had him grabbing his jacket and keys, running down the stairs and into the Impala, sticking on Metallica and pulling out only to be caught in a snarl up.

"Well good fucking morning to you too Beat City."
