Walnut: the outing

Oct 13, 2008 00:44

Walnut in the past 48 hours has been out of the house twice without myself or Kian. She's had all her vaccinations so no worries on that front.

The first outing was just as we were going to Kian's parents' house yesterday - she decided that she wanted to stay outside with Apollo. When we got home she was sat on the neighbour's wall meowing.

Today we went out for dinner with Tessa and MP. I opened the cat flap thinking we'll only be gone a couple of hours (turned out to be 4 hours or so) and she jumped straight out. When we arrived home she came running downstairs, demonstrating that she has worked out the cat flap. This is a good thing.

She's wary of cars (thank fuck for that!) and she's already shown that she can chase of the biggest bully in the neighbourhood (Thomas that lives at no.21)! So, there's no truly worrying things about her going out on her own. Kian and/or I will be around whenever she wants to go out, just in case she loses which house it is and needs a holla.

Walnut aged ~5months. Independent Kitty! If she could work out how to open cat food then she wouldn't need us other than to play Fetch!
