I am going with kidlet and mother. The plan is Science and Industry, Navy Pier, the Mile and the krackhouse known as American girl.

I have heard chicago has a decent music scene right now but it's summer and we tourist make life hell for you natives... ;-)

Sadly, I am far more ignorant of the music scene than I should be. I know Taste of Chicago is coming up starting this Friday. I am almost embarrassed to say that I've lived here 2.5 years and still haven't made it to one. I'm fixing that this year.

Also, Navy Pier is nice and all but is a total tourist trap. Except they have Chicago Public Radio there which is <3. I recommend the Field Museum. Mmm Field Musuem...
