This day is special
Today is the 30 year anniversary of Mt St Helens erupting. I wish I could have seen it, but I was still too much of a fetus. I still had a few more days to go.
I think the eruption occurring so close to my birthday is, in part, what made me so curious about geology. Especially geology that goes boom. I've asked a lot of people what they remember of the eruption. Most mention the ash, how messy it was, and how long it took to go away. (Years, apparently.)
